Cataract Surgery
Hoy Eye Center has in its surgical suite, an Infinity Alcon Phaco Machine (Phacoemulsifier), a sophisticated computer, which breaks the cataract into tiny pieces, then suctions those pieces from the eye through a very small incision. This cutting edge technology is the very latest cataract technique.
Prior to the development of the Phaco Machine, the cataract was normally removed in one piece, requiring a larger incision, sutures, and trauma to the eye. Phacoemulsification is a safe, effective procedure, which allows the patient to walk out of the surgical suite and to resume normal activities within a few days. Thanks to phacoemulsification and other extraordinary innovations, cataract surgery is now among the safest, most effective surgical procedures in the world.
Cataract surgery is performed at Hoy Eye Center, by Dr. David Hoy, Ophthalmologist, with over 28 years experience in performing eye surgeries using the latest technology available.
